Here’s what The Peak failed to report. Below is part of an email sent by University Relations Officer Andrea Sandua to Forum regarding the political strategy employed by the “G7” to subvert the call for a Special General Meeting:
“It is absolutely true that some directors of the SFSS called the AGM strategically to ensure that neither meeting achieves quorum, by confusing students. In a meeting on Friday evening, September 8th, members of the former Common Sense slate gathered at Vanessa Kelly's house to discuss strategies for looming issues. As a former Common Sense member, I was at that meeting. It was already apparent by that date that an impending SGM may be called in response to the petitions collected by SDU members. In effect, it was at that same meeting, in Ms. Kelly's living room, that strategies for defeating the SGM were discussed. Among those strategies, was the notion of holding the AGM on the same day, or at the same time as the SGM.”
